We’re a month and a half away from the Fall/Autumn Equinox (so hold off on that knit sweater!), but it’s always a good idea to give yourself some mental lead time as you work out your ‘Q3’ and ‘Q4’ marketing strategies. Here are 5 tactics to use to gear up for that autumn air:
1. Research Networking Events
Now that everyone’s holiday schedules have settled, it’s time for organizations to start planning winter galas, conferences and festivals. Make sure you capitalize on those early-bird ticket sales or sign-up for a speaking opportunity. This is a great time to bust out your thought leadership chops or perfect your elevator pitch.
2. Nurture Your Beloved Clients
Summer is generally quieter for most businesses. If you’re one of the lucky few, use this opportunity to plan how to show gratitude to your clients. Whether it’s planning for the gift giving holiday season or hosting a customer appreciation event, start mapping out your ideas now to avoid being swamped the rest of the year.
3. Update Editorial Calendars
If soaking up the sun has you and your colleagues relaxed and creative ideas are percolating, start reviewing your editorial calendars and even prep into the new year. It’s a good habit to check-in and see if those beginning of the year concepts still hold weight today.
4. Host an Event
Who doesn’t like an end of summer bash? This is a great occasion to gather industry folks, career opportunists or prospective clients to an event that promotes your company. It’s a way to ‘humble brag’ without being overly direct and gives you a form of recognition while having fun.
5. Find Partnerships
As influencers take over the media space, it’s important to find partnerships with individuals or organizations that align with your brand. They don’t necessarily have to be directly related – take Partyskirts and The Juice Truck for example.
Regardless of what you do, be strategic about your downtime and of course, enjoy the summer! 🌞
